Plus Reinforces Measures for Quarantine Period, Elevates Disease Prevention Effort COVID-19

27 Apr 2021 plus news and update

Plus Property is ready to service the residents at some 80,000 households under its care, by reinforcing disease control measures in light of the most recent wave of COVID-19 outbreaks. PLUS is implementing an elevated protocol to facilitate residents who need to undergo quarantine inside their homes. It is keeping its guard up by launching a war room for its support team from headquarters and juristic person teams at residential projects to deliver daily situational briefings, enabling appropriate preparations and planning to be made.

Information updates are provided to residents and coordination is made with hospitals and ‘hospitels’ in preparation for any delivery of patients. These efforts at residential projects, in turn, contribute to reducing the spread of the disease in general. PLUS is working with its client residents so everybody may pull through the latest wave of COVID-19 in safety.

Ms. Naruemon Arporntanakul, Assistant Managing Director – Property Management Residential Department at Plus Property the full-service professional property and facility management agency, revealed that PLUS, in its role of managing juristic person affairs at residential communities, has issued COVID-19 prevention measures at these residential developments since the onset of the COVID-19 outbreak in Thailand.

There were measures for screening individuals for COVID-19 prior to entering the premises, cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, and sanitising parcels before handing them over to recipients. Sorting of infectious waste, such as facemasks, was implemented.

Meanwhile, some measures were aimed at facilitating convenience for the residents at each property project. Developments relating to these measures and other information were continually made known to residents. Contact numbers of nearby hospitals were prepared, and a protocol for transferring patients was put in place ahead of possible emergencies or requests of medical assistance from residents.

Special activities were also arranged for the occupants of each residential community during work from home periods. These undertakings have so far met the expected standard.

The most recent wave of COVID-19 infections (April, 2021) is widespread and involves a large number of infected people. Consequently, there was a large number of people who were exposed to risk and had to self-isolate within their residences and monitor their conditions. There were also infected individuals who could not be immediately admitted for treatment and therefore had to temporarily remain in their residences as they wait for admission.

Owing to these developments and with regard to hygiene and the safety of all occupants within each project, PLUS escalated its disease prevention efforts by applying stringent measures in handling and caring for residents who were self-isolating.

The 3 steps applied for this purpose are as follows: 1. Controlling risk and limiting transmission is accomplished by restricting risk-exposed individuals to their rooms. The juristic person team facilitates lift service in accordance with disease control measures, while risk-exposed individuals have to take their temperature and observe their condition in order to fill in and submit the Department of Disease Control’s evaluation form daily.

2. Facilitating convenience during quarantine is done by having the juristic person team schedule deliveries of food, water and needed items to the front of the room. After each delivery, spot sanitisation takes place on the respective floor.

3. Transferring patients to hospitals makes use of only the service lift. All staff involved in the task wear protective clothing and traversed areas are immediately disinfected and opened for regular use.
Throughout the period of quarantine, the juristic person team maintains contact with the quarantined individual through the phone or mobile application, following up on the individual’s condition and the result of the COVID-19 test in order to deliver the appropriate care and management.

Information on treatment facilities and ‘hospitels’ are prepared and coordination is made with these establishments so recommendations can be provided to residents.

Additionally, PLUS has set up a war room for the support team from headquarters to interact with the juristic person teams at every project, enabling situational briefings on the latest wave of COVID-19 outbreaks that, in turn, allow for adjustments to be made to the existing protocol and appropriate responses and measures to be issued.

“The juristic person teams at residential projects are an important force in managing and preventing any spread of the disease at condominiums and housing estates, thereby preventing a spread to society at large. Although we are unable to predict the development of this latest wave of COVID-19 with any certainty, PLUS is keeping its guard up by reinforcing preventive efforts and re-emphasising strict adherence to the COVID-19 prevention measures at each project. It is also facilitating convenience for residents who need to quarantine for self-monitoring or while waiting for hospital beds. So that the residents of the 80,000 households that we service are able to stay happily and pull through this state of affairs safely”, said Naruemon.
