  • Sansiri and Plus Property takes Siri Campus through the Fitwel 3 Stars Rating certification with the highest score in Asia for year 2020. The certification by the Center for Active Design (CfAD) complied with standards set by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
  • Fitwel provides a reading of ‘friendliness’ towards building users’ quality of life. Consideration is given to design and a holistic environmental maintenance strategy that leads to workplace productivity.
  • Plus Property noted for endeavouring to respond to new trends with its facility management business, by sustainably enhancing the health & wellness aspect of its service and while striving to push standards for Thai office buildings to meet the global level.
  • Siri Campus and the Stock Exchange of Thailand building, both managed by PLUS, are the first 2 buildings in Thailand to be certified under the Fitwel standard.

Mr. Uthai Uthaisangsuk, Chief Operating Officer at Sansiri Public Company Limited, said “Pollution, environmental issues and the COVID-19 crisis had the effect of expanding the standards on safety and environmentally friendly green buildings. Presently, another building standard known as Fitwel has established itself in Thailand.

The objective of Fitwel is to promote the development and maintenance of buildings that are friendly to health and wellness, which is now a megatrend being driven globally. ‘Siri Campus’ is a new kind of office that has been designed under the concept ‘New way of Work and New way of Life’. The concept emphasises fostering productivity and promoting employees’ quality of life.

Working behavior-associated demands of the newer generation were met and, according to WorkVenture, the company now ranks among the top 10 firms which members of the newer generation aspire to join. Most recently, Siri Campus, whose facilities are professionally managed by PLUS, received certification for the Fitwel 3 Stars Rating and had the highest score in Asia for the year 2020.”

Siri Campus is a new office model for some 1,200 employees of Sansiri and affiliated companies. Its design and management adhere to a focus on the wellness of employees and other building users, in accordance with the Fitwel standard. Spaces were designed to promote physical movement and reduce stress.

The fitness centre found here offers quality exercise machines from leading manufacturer TechnoGym, in addition to personal trainers. Active Workstation work desks enable physical activity while working, by allowing the user to walk or cycle while at the desk.

There is also a Relaxing Area equipped with table tennis and snooker tables.  Green space is allocated both inside and outside of the buildings, ceiling sky lights are employed and usage of light-impeding walls is reduced in order to let in natural light.

Spaces have been designed to be friendly to all groups of users, and fully-equipped nursing rooms and Muslim prayer rooms are made available. A clean and safe environment is maintained for building users, with building systems and hygiene affairs overseen by professionals from PLUS.

Mr. Chan Sirirat, Deputy Managing Director of Facility Management Division, Plus Property Company Limited, the full-service professional property and facility management agency, revealed that for several years past, Plus Property and Sansiri Plc., have collaboratively driven policies to lift the quality of life for their employees as well as for those at business partners.

This drive formed part of the firms’ roadmaps toward sustainable organisational development. Implementation took place at all of the client projects where PLUS oversaw administrative functions, with an aim of extending the quality of life enhancement towards society.

The administrative and management work at Siri Campus was elevated in all aspects, in order to make the campus a widely recognised example in facility management. Siri Campus was entered into the evaluation process for the Fitwel standard, via the Center for Active Design (CfAD) in the United States.

It passed the evaluation for the highest level of the Fitwel Certificate – the 3 Stars Rating. It also had the highest score in Asia for the 2020 evaluation round, in the category of instilling feelings of well-being, due to the scorecard aspects of Improving Occupant Health and Productivity.

Fitwel is a standard used to evaluate buildings where management emphasis is on promoting the well-being of building users. Consideration is given to the design of the building, the maintenance of spaces and the condition of the building interior, the management of interior air quality, emergencies management, provision of nourishment and amenities.

Considerations in regard to the promotion of building users’ health include the availability of space for relaxation, walkways for strolls and exercise machines. Use of environmentally friendly materials is also a point of consideration. Fitwel is a globally accepted standard and complements PLUS’s key strategy of placing emphasis on conducting work at a level comparable to the international standard.

The company also places importance in elevating its buildings administration service to better address the requirements of members of the newer generation. It performs the role of a capable partner that stands by the building owner in overseeing and improving the building towards a shared target.

These values have culminated in the receiving of the Fitwel certification, which is slated to become a new standard for the office buildings circle from now on.

The Fitwel standard is still a new thing for office buildings in Thailand but it is a global-level standard that is internationally accepted. It responds to the demands of building users in the modern era with precision. PLUS views that a Fitwel certificate will give momentum to the stepping up of the standard employed at an office building, and will henceforth become an important factor in facility management.

There are currently just 2 buildings in Thailand that have received the Fitwel certification – Siri Campus and the Stock Exchange of Thailand building – and PLUS is the administrator for both. PLUS is also providing consultation for office buildings in regard to Fitwel, for those who are interested in bringing about this change together,” Mr. Chan concluded.

PLUS currently oversees more than 30 projects in its facility management business, which translates into roughly 22 million square feet of area under management. For inquiries about services, call 02-688-7555 or visit Plus Facility Management
